Safety routines
Water and shade
Every camper carries a filled bottle, and the water coolers are refilled before each block. We stop for water and shade between blocks, and more often when the day is hot.
Hot days
Field blocks are in the cool of the morning, and the afternoon is in the gym. On a very hot day the whole day moves indoors, and we text families before camp opens.
Sun
Sunscreen goes on at home, and a counselor reminds campers to put more on after lunch. Campers wear a hat with a brim or a cap on the field.
Lightning and storms
When thunder is heard, everyone goes into the gym and waits there until a counselor says it is clear. We text families if pickup changes.
Sign-in and pickup
An adult on your list signs your camper in and out at the gym door, and we ask for ID until we know you. Campers leave only with a person on the list.
Allergies, medicine and illness
Tell us about allergies and medicine at registration, and we ask what we need privately. A camper with a fever stays home, and if a camper feels ill at camp, a counselor stays with them until you arrive.
